Houston Radio Stations
KACC,
is the college radio station licensed to Alvin Community College. It serves as
the flagship of the Radio and Television Broadcasting Department, and has been
in operation since 1978. Hundreds of broadcasting students have learned the
ropes of the radio business, been ‘on-the-air’ at KACC, and gone on to
commercial stations in the Houston metroplex and beyond. We continue to place
radio broadcasting graduates at Houston powerhouse stations such as
KILT,
KTRH,
KLOL,
KRBE
and
KHMX.
They
play a great mix of new and classic rock, and our students work with
state-of-the-art equipment. We provide expert training for those interested in
becoming reporters, newscasters, disc jockeys, personalities, promotions and
production staff. Due to our close relationships with the radio stations in our
area, our students have unique training opportunities not found anywhere else.
The Radio
Broadcasting Program offers a
Broadcasting Certificate
and an
Associate of Applied Science Degree
at Alvin Community College, both with a strong emphasis in ‘hands-on”
experience. And our placement of graduates is second to none!
